History

Palace Hotel, past and present

The history of the Palace Hotel, the first grand hotel in Como, dates to 1898. It was a time when the city was beginning to reveal its potential as a tourist destination. The Palace subsequently underwent several different phases – temporary closures, restructuring and reopenings – while always maintaining its original charm.

The Palace Hotel remains a pillar of Como’s tourist industry. The centuries-old history entwines with the city’s illustrious past, helping to preserve local cultural and architectural heritage.
